There is really only the word “Every” that makes this quote wrong. It is wrong because not every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. In fact many accomplishments happen by accident, by luck or just pure chance.
It is this fundamentalism, a typical hallmark of the motivational movement that makes this quote so irritating. “Every Accomplishment Starts With the Decision to Try”. The word Every makes this quote an absolute without exception, without question, and that is wrong. It is small minded and irritating to the rational brain
The quote fancies itself to be wise. When in reality it is constrictive and narrow and limiting. Condensing everything down to fit inside its own limited template.
